Vanessa, Neila, and Denise are in their last year of high school and studying hard with many hopes for the future. All three of them have their sights set on a university education. Vanessa dreams of going to medical school and becoming a pediatrician, Neila is interested in pursuing a degree in either nursing or in journalism. Denise is already preparing to take the difficult college entrance exam (vestibular).

Based on the belief that education is the key to helping people help themselves, The Alagados Project has established a college scholarship fund to put talented young people from the community of Alagados through college and give them a concrete opportunity to move up out of poverty. Generous seed funding from a private donor was raised during the Colorado Summer Tour. Our first student has just successfully completed his first year of college and we are in the process of selecting two more recipients.
