Alagados Project Summer Tour 2008

This past summer kicked off with an incredible Colorado screening tour in June. Ubiratan Assis, an accomplished percussionist and native of Alagados, who collaborated in creating the original score for the film joined us for the tour. Events included film screenings, Q&A's with the director Sylvia Johnson and music director Ubiratan Assis, a traveling photo exhibit of the kids' photography work, music performances, and Afro-Brazilian music workshops. The tour got a fantastic response, raised a lot of awareness about the project, and generated funding to support the Alagados Project college scholarship fund. Many thank to all those who helped make it happen!
